Christmas is coming to Casper—and Ebenezer Scrooge is bringing a whole lot of chaos with him!
Stage III Community Theatre is holding auditions for Ebenezer’s Big Casper Christmas Show, a hilarious, fast-paced, family-friendly take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, directed by Fay Hall.
This isn't your traditional Christmas Carol. In this freewheeling American adaptation, Scrooge travels from his childhood in England to America after being spurned by the love of his life, eventually finding himself smack in the middle of a Christmas adventure filled with local references, irreverent humor, homemade theatrical magic, and lightning-fast costume changes.
And here's the real fun: the entire world of the play is brought to life by just five actors.
Roles
Scrooge (M) — The central character and the one person who gets to remain mostly himself throughout the madness.
Actor 1, Actor 2, Actor 3 & Actor 4 — The ensemble. These four actors play all of the other characters in the story, often switching characters, costumes, and personalities at lightning speed.
Expandable casting is optional, so there may be opportunities to expand the ensemble depending on the needs of the production.
What to Expect at Auditions
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No prepared monologue is required.
We're looking for actors who are comfortable with comedy, quick changes, physical humor, character work, and the kind of theatrical mayhem that comes from four actors trying to play an entire town.
If you enjoy fast-paced comedy, ensemble work, and making an audience laugh, we'd love to see you at auditions!
